Hello and welcome to my site! I’m excited to finally have a place to share my music with everyone, keep people updated on what’s next, and wax poetic on whatever new music rabbit hole I’ve stumbled down at any given moment.
So – I just had the distinct pleasure of writing a new string quartet for San Francisco’s Friction Quartet, who premiered it about a month ago alongside several new works by composition majors at Cornish. The piece is essentially a tour through a number of distinct, rapidly-evolving moments that have been uncharacteristically sequenced into the piece’s modest six minutes, all the while united by it’s simple harmonic language. I am really proud of this piece and still in a state of somewhat stunned disbelief over the sheer talent of the quartet.
You’ll find the newly-finished recording of the piece on my Listen page alongside several earlier concert works and music from the short film I scored late last year. Please do check it out!
What’s next: I am still hard at work editing all the video footage and mixing recordings from the shows with the Jim Knapp Orchestra earlier this year. It’s a major project and one I finally have time to really dive into now that school is over. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
